Setting up WebsiteDefender
Securing your website or blog was never this easy! Here are 3 simple steps to secure your website or blog with WebsiteDefender.
Note: If you do not copy the WebsiteDefender Agent to your website or if it is not copied properly, a notification bar will appear at the top of your admin page. Click on it to download the agent and follow the steps outlined below.
After you register an account with WebsiteDefender and submit your contact details and web-address to be scanned, you will receive a verification email with a link to confirm your subscription. Once you click on this link you will be automatically redirected to your WebsiteDefender dashboard.
Step 1 – Download the WebsiteDefender Agent
WebsiteDefender now needs to verify that you are the owner of the website before running a security scan. To do this, you need to copy the WebsiteDefender Agent to your website. Click the Download button to download the WebsiteDefender Agent to your computer.
Step 2 – Copy the WebsiteDefender Agent to your Website
Now copy the WebsiteDefender Agent to the root of your website. Login to your website through your host’s admin dashboard or via FTP and copy / upload the WebsiteDefender Agent to the root directory of your website.

Step 3 – Test WebsiteDefender Agent Installation & Queue for Scanning
Now check if the WebsiteDefender Agent functions correctly by clicking the ‘Test Now’ button.
Once the test has been completed, your website will be queued for scanning and once completed (usually within 6 hours) you will receive an e-mail with the scan results.
